Cyberpunk Edge Runners Episode 6

 This episode is where we first see someone who has been with the team the whole season become a cyberpsycho. In this episode we see Maine, the leader of the group becoming more and more mentally unstable. He is seeming to lose control as there is too much robotics in his body. This episode is super confusing and fast paced as we are getting most of the story from the perspective of Maine who is on the verge of cyberpsychosis. We see Maine pull Kiwi out of the deep dive which makes us think she just died and the tone is super on edge for the rest of the episode. Maine begins to lash out as David and Lucy get ready for another deep dive but this time with fear of Maine. As Lucy is deep diving David doesn’t keep the guy sedated and Lucy is emotionally traumatized from the experience. While all this is happening Maine lashes out and shoots his weapon at a civilian making the police on the way. There is a huge fight scene of Maine just shooting everyone and then killing his girlfriend in the fire fight. The episode ends with Maine accepting defeat and so when the police that are able to kill cyberpsychotic individuals show up he blows up these gas tanks which both kill him and all the police in the building. This episode was so fast paced that I couldn’t understand many of the Japanese words being said and so I had to turn on English subtitles. This episode showed how crazy the mind can be when strapped to so much metal in this universe. He went from the first image below (this cool leader) to the second image below (a mentally unstable.

Mix of Japanese Songs to study with

This music was super relaxing to listen to and got me in a mood to be more proactive with my work. I liked the rhythm and flow of the music, it reminded me closely to music from my childhood that was on the radio but just in Japanese. I thought that the music felt very love and city oriented, which makes sense when I think of where these song artists live.  I was able to fully hear て forms and heard みたい, きかない、and many other grammar forms that I know. I also heard a lot of する、ある　as dictionary forms for words used in the songs. The speaking was very very fast with vocabulary I was unfamiliar with but I could understand the sentence structure and so generally could break down if they were talking about wanting something, doing something, past tense, and other particles.

Jeffery Angles Event

This event was super fun to be a part of! It was a great way to start the day and I learned about his story which was increasingly fascinating as he continued his story. He seemed very intelligent with how to be respectful to others while learning their language and understand where we lack the words and that it can be more beneficial to listen. I thought his poems were amazing and how he met his biological mother for the first time when he was in Japan was super surprising. His story made me realize that no matter where we think we are going to end up in life, we have no idea. There are so many things that can happen and just accepting the present moment may be much more beneficial then trying to plan out our future. I think this was made apparent when he spoke on how he became a translator and that he never thought of being a poet but just tried it out one day and now he's ended up where he is today.
