Jeffery Angles Event
This event was super fun to be a part of! It was a great way to start the day and I learned about his story which was increasingly fascinating as he continued his story. He seemed very intelligent with how to be respectful to others while learning their language and understand where we lack the words and that it can be more beneficial to listen. I thought his poems were amazing and how he met his biological mother for the first time when he was in Japan was super surprising. His story made me realize that no matter where we think we are going to end up in life, we have no idea. There are so many things that can happen and just accepting the present moment may be much more beneficial then trying to plan out our future. I think this was made apparent when he spoke on how he became a translator and that he never thought of being a poet but just tried it out one day and now he's ended up where he is today. I wanted to try a short poem below:
Drifting away and coming back,
To the night the dream grows,
Drifting away can't be found.
